This Privacy Policy explains what information the Clean Mail Hub - Advanced Email Management Chrome extension ("Clean Mail Hub", "the extension"), published by The Kreative Social, accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have. Clean Mail Hub runs entirely inside your browser. We do not operate any server that receives, stores, or processes your emails or personal data.
Runs in your browser
No servers, no analytics, no ads
Metadata only
Never reads email bodies or attachments
Nothing permanently deleted
Cleanups go to Trash and can be undone
1. Information We Access
1.1 Google Account Information
When you connect a Gmail account, the extension receives from Google:
- Your Gmail email address
- Your Google profile name and profile picture (to show which account is connected)
1.2 Gmail Data
To provide its cleanup features, the extension reads, directly from the Gmail API:
- Email metadata: sender, subject, date, size, labels, and read/unread status
- Mailing-list headers ("List-Unsubscribe"), used only to unsubscribe you when you ask
- Mailbox counts (total, unread, and per-category message counts)
Important: The extension does not read the body or attachments of your emails, and email data is never sent to us or to any third party.
1.3 Authentication Information
- OAuth 2.0 access tokens issued by Google
- Tokens are kept only in temporary browser session memory, are never synced or written to disk by the extension, and are discarded when you log out or close the browser
- We never see or store your Google password
2. Google API Scopes We Request
- gmail.readonly: to scan and analyze your mailbox (counts, senders, subscriptions, large emails)
- gmail.modify: requested only when you first perform a cleanup action, to move emails to Trash, archive, mark as read, apply labels, restore emails (Undo), and send unsubscribe emails on your behalf
- userinfo.email and userinfo.profile: to identify the connected account
The extension never permanently deletes email. All cleanups move email to Gmail Trash, where Gmail keeps it for 30 days.
3. How We Use Information
- Bulk cleanup: find and move the emails you select to Trash
- Unsubscribe: when you click Unsubscribe, the extension uses the sender's official unsubscribe method: either a one-click request to the sender's unsubscribe address or an unsubscribe email sent from your Gmail account to the sender's unsubscribe mailbox. Only the sender of that newsletter receives this request.
- Cleanup rules and schedules: rules you create (for example "trash promotions older than 30 days") run locally in your browser on the schedule you choose
- Large-email finder and inbox analysis: calculated locally from message metadata
- Undo: the IDs of messages affected by your recent cleanups are stored locally so you can restore them
4. Data Storage
The extension stores the following only on your device using Chrome storage:
- Your list of connected accounts (email address, name, profile picture URL)
- Your settings, protected senders list, and cleanup rules
- Cleanup history and statistics, including message IDs for Undo (last 50 actions)
Settings may be synced between your own Chrome browsers through Chrome Sync if you have Chrome Sync enabled. No email content is stored.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your data with anyone. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or to determine credit-worthiness, and no human reads your data. The extension contains no third-party analytics or tracking code.
6. Google API Services User Data Policy
Clean Mail Hub's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
7. Your Rights and Controls
- Log out of an account: use the account menu in the extension. This revokes that account's access token.
- Delete all data: Options → "Log Out & Clear All Data" removes everything the extension stored.
- Revoke access at any time: myaccount.google.com/permissions
- Uninstall: removing the extension deletes all of its local data.
8. Security
All communication with Google uses HTTPS. Access tokens are short-lived (about 1 hour) and held only in memory. The extension requests the fewest permissions needed for each feature and asks for write access only when you first perform a cleanup.
9. Children's Privacy
Clean Mail Hub is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.
